Ezekiel was sitting at home that night, he had just put his little one to bed and now he was waiting for Gabe to come over. He had rented some action movies and had an pile of chips and other crap that they could munch on while getting wasted and high. It was always good to keep a full stomach so you didn't get too sick. He was supplying some of the drugs, but was hoping Gabe bought more booze with him.

He had had a rough week, Things were turning up missing and Hun was giving him shit. Not that it was his fault! But Hun needed to blame someone. And tonight Eze finally had some time off so he was going to spend it with his brother. they hadn't had much time to just chill together for a while. They needed to catch up, luckily Gabe wasn't having a nightly flavor. He really wished his brother would be more careful with who he slept with. He was worried the man would get hurt or sick or die. Gabe needed a babysitter 24/7 just make sure he wasn't too distructive.

After pulling everything out Ezekiel plopped down on the tattered couch and waited for his gust to arrive.

Gabriel could have spent the night completely indulged in some spicy flavor, but tonight would be spent doing something more meaningful. 'Family time' was a rarity and something the reckless thug looked forward to, so of course he would shed some of his unhealthy habits for tonight. Perhaps it was his little experience with actual family when he was younger, or the fact that Ezekiel was someone that he had always looked up to. Or a combination of things. The fact was, Gabe never shrugged off his brother's invites.



The curly-haired thug had made a quick stop at the little shop on the corner and picked up a case of brew. He had also picked up a surprise for Isabella in case the little girl was still awake. Bella was the only girl that had him wrapped around her fingers. Well, Lexi had a way with him, too. Unfortunately things hadn't been the same since his lapse in judgement. Maybe someday he could get back into her good graces. He just had to keep trying. Though, his continuing one night stands wasn't helping any of that.


Gabriel finally arrived at Ezekiel's house and using his free hand, opened the door to step inside. He and Zeke were beyond 'knocking terms'.. there was no need in it. Besides, only another thug would be gutsy enough to walk into a thug's house. Of course there were rival gangs out there, but they wouldn't make it into this territory without being gunned down.


"Hey, Eze." Gabriel flashed his brother his trade-mark lop-sided grin as he placed the booze on the table, a happy pit bull sliding up beside the older thug for a head scratch.


"Bella still awake?"

Gabe arrived just as Eze sat down, he looked over at Gabe and gave him a wave then reached down to give Jigs a pet behind the ears.

No she's alseep. Why? Are you spoiling her again?

Eze grabbed a beer and popped it open then took a large sip.

Gabriel was a little disappointed that his favorite lady had already been sent off to bed. It was common. Zeke would give her an earlier bed time if he knew that booze and drugs would be a part of the night's plan. The curly-haired thug plopped down beside his brother on the couch and placed a very cuddly looking brown teddy bear on the coffee table. It looked a little foreign setting amidst the clutter of a thug's domain, its big puppy-dog eyes staring at the two street-rats.


"Of course I am." Gabriel replied, that lop-sided grin tugging at one side of his face. "I'm gonna have to make it by earlier tomorrow so I can see her." Because Gabriel himself had never gotten the joy of being a child. He got to live that whenever he was with Isabella. During those times, all of the worries were lifted and he would play any game the little princess wanted. Even Barbies. He had always been very protective over her. Being in their line of work and knowing the horrible fate that had taken her mother, she needed that extra support. Ezekiel was a great father, but sometimes he just didn't know when to soften up. Gabriel was that outlet for Bella.


"I have you know, I passed up a hot piece of tail to hang tonight..." Gabe teased his brother as he pulled out a joint and wedged it between his lips. After lighting it, he took a puff and passed it over to his brother. "So, feel special." But truth be known, Gabriel always chose 'family time' over having a romp between the sheets with some whore. His one night stands were usually to temporarily sooth the loneliness that often suffocated him.

Eze looked at the bear and grinned. It was cute and the little girl would love it. Eze popped open a beer and took a sip. Of course I feel special. He said, plucking the joint from Gabe and taking a hit.

Eze then put in a movie. He didn't see what one it was, the movie didn't really matter just background noise really.

So when are you going to settle down and have a your own kid you can spoil?

Gabriel also didn't care about what movie Ezekiel had 'picked'. Indeed, it was already background noise and nothing more. The curly haired thug took another hit from the joint, and passed it again. This would go on until the thing was too small to pinch between fingers, then they would find a roach clip. Nothing would be wasted. Then came the million dollar question. Despite how routine it may have seemed, every single time it stung just the same.


Gabriel was quiet for a moment, frowning ever so slightly. "C.mon, Zeke. You know I'm not cut out for that." Some may see Gabriel's promiscuous ways as more of a status. 'The playa'. But his reasons were much deeper than that. Growing up as an unloved child had done some damage, and now he felt unlovable. That was the catcher. To fall in love meant that someone would become close enough to see just how damaged he really was, and then they would leave. This way, Gabriel was sparing himself of the pain. It was a lonely existence, but that was his destiny.


"So, I'll just spoil yer kid." He spared a lop-sided grin.[/b]

You think yer not cut out for it. but Bella likes being spoiled, I think if you did pop up with a kid she would get jealous. Eze finished his beer abd grabbed another one for the table.

I feel bad though. Haven't really been around too much. Hun has me alll over the place. He doesn't seem to care I have a kid that needs me to be home.

It seemed that Ezekiel was confident that Gabe would make a good father, but he wasn't so sure. Yeah, he adored Isabella and loved spoiling her, but his own troubled childhood left him with doubts. A hint of a grin stretched across his lips when Zeke mentioned that Isabella would probably get jealous.


"Nah. Even if I did end up with kids, I'm always gonna spoil her. Even when she's 16 and datin'.. I'm gonna be there to help you pummel the guy if he's anything like me.." He took a swig of his beer. Yeah, no promiscuous men for his Princess.


"Yeah, Hun don't give a fuck. Guess it comes with the territory of bein' a leader." He told his brother. "Not that he cuts me any slack, either. When Lex and I were together... he made it hard to be with her, before she joined. Now that we're not together.. it's hard bein' in the same group with her.." It was obvious that he still had feelings for Lexi, but Gabriel knew that he's fucked it all up. That's what he was good at.


"Speakin' of girls, when you gonna get back out there and date again? Sally wouldn't want you to mope forever..." Gabe knew that his bro would probably claim that he didn't have time, but he would have to make time... "Or.. you don't have to commit, just get you some tail. Good stress relief, in case you've forgotten..."

I'm not moping. I just...I don't know, it's hard when you have a kid, you have to find someone that doesn't mind you have commitments and being in a gang is hard to find time for dates. And I don't want one night stands. I want something real. Just have to find the right girl. I'm sure she'll fall in my lap any day now.

Eze sipped his beer and took a hit off the joint.

If I never find someone else. I think I'll be ok with that though.
