Helping strays

Don nodded, situating the bag on his shoulder.  "I'm ready."  Then he looked to the others before looking back at Leo.  There was one piece of the puzzle missing.  "And where are we supposed to catch up with your friend, Leo?"

"Some where!" Michelangelo shrugs helpfully his food man bag in place and his mind all over eager to be gone and meeteth people!

He hops on the spot from foot to foot hands and fingers checking and double checking the food bags straps.

It was early morning so the big gator awoke in his pile of warmth in the nest and as always stretched himself from tail tip to snout mouth opening wide in a monstrous yawn. He checks his hand repaired cell and chuckles his friend was up and sent him a morning text as usual.

Smiling and tucking the cell into the arm pit with a bit of duct tape he moves out of his bed old tram car and to his lounge/ dinning cart in the middle slipping it to check what he had in the small repaired fridge. A loaf of bread... he snagged it and swallowed it whole - he would have to see if his friend could find him supplies for the next week.

But now - maybe whilst on patrol of the storm drains and tunnels and old subways and sewers he will find a stray to snap up?

It felt like a good morning fore discoveries and so he moves to on of the only ways into this old abandoned corner of the subway... through an always flooded storm drain.

Splinter curls his tail as he waits to be led out by Donatello, patiently listening to chatter chuckling at Michelangelo's eagerness, and surprisingly Leonardo's to move out and find this lady. Well it was true they did not want to leave a girl waiting in some corner of the city.

She is waiting for us at that busted up pizza place. I figured it was the best place to pick her up at that we wouldn't be seen. And I hate for her to have to wait any longer. So if you're set, Don, lead the way.

Yeah Leo was still technically giving orders. It was so hard not to! Years he lead everyone and to not be leading, to not be in control was frustrating. At first he thought it was great! One less thing he had to worry about. But now he just wanted his title back! And he dread the moment Mike was put in charge.

Not only was Leo giving orders, but he was also putting unnecessary pressure on Don. He couldn't help but roll his eyes. He already knew about her waiting on them. And Don would lead them after he found out where they were supposed to go. That was pretty important, after all.

With a heavy sigh, he headed out with the others. Don didn't appreciate being ordered around when he was supposed to be leading them. Granted, it was only to the pizza place then to Love's, but it still annoyed him with Leo's impatience. It seemed like Leo cared more about this woman than their mission.

Leo let Don go ahead. but really he wanted to take the lead. it was his friend after all. But he followed Don into the sewers and through the tunnels he was happy when they were finally on the street. They walked silently to where they were to grab Ally. Once he was there and spotted Ally he smiled and waved to her.

Hey! sorry to keep you waiting. He said. He was glad that she hadn't got bored and left.

These are my brothers. Donnie and Mike.And our father, Master Splinter. Everyone, This is Ally.

Ally was growing extremely restless. Not only was it as cold as Alaska out here, but this place really gave her the creeps! The fact that one of the windows had been busted out led her to believe that squatters used this place as a crash site. It certainly had that sort of potential, and the 'squatter's in this area were usually the bad kind.


Ally had suffered enough trauma over the last few weeks, she didn't want to fall victim to another assault. The bruises had yet to fade but while they looked serious and in fact were, she had grown oblivious to them. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, anyway.


Fearing that Leo had forgotten her, she finally pushed herself up, deciding that she would just head down into the sewers. That's where they would be searching, right? That meant that maybe, just maybe they were already down there. It was just too bad that she didn't have a flash light, but she would make do. How dark could it be, anyway. She was about to step out of the door frame when Leo and his family finally made their appearance. A wide smile stretched across her lips at the sight of Leo and she quickly sprung forward to hug him.. and then her gaze moved across his family. She had only met Raphael, so Mikey, Donnie and Splinter were all new territory to her. One by one she took them all in, quickly noticing that the purple one was equip with enough techno gear to make Inspector Gadget envious!


..and, the little Orange clad turtle.. zomg! Those baby blues and the fact that he was the smallest instantly made him super adorable! Then there was the rat.. he must be.. the father?? Just how did that work?? Anyways, there would be room for questions later!


Smiling sweetly at the group, she flashed the family a wink. The fact that a parental figure was present made her wish that she had worn pants instead of skimpy shorts.. besides, it was much too cold for that! But currently being homeless made clothes a bit of a stretch.


Heh.. it's nice to meet you all!" She beamed, pulling the hoodie a little tighter around her shivering form.

Mikey instantly grins in his friendly way at the girl, he'd followed along with his family, happy and bouncing and glad to be on the move! and ...

oh she was cold!

Mikey untied the hoodie he wore about his waist and winks, "Nice to meet you cutie - need an extra layer?.... and I got food!"

As was his pattern treating her as if he'd know her for years not just mere seconds.

Slowly releasing Leo from her embrace, Ally's gaze shifted to Mikey as he spoke, and offered her his hoodie. A smile stretched across her lips as she took it, feeling completely at ease with his friendliness. He certainly made her feel welcomed. "Awww, thank you sweetness.." She winked and took the hoodie, wrapping and tying the sleeves around her waist. If anything, its length would give her legs protection from the cold.

"Food, huh? You seriously came prepared!" Being the flirt that she was, Ally moved closer and planted a kiss against Mikey's cheek. Her gaze then shifted to Leo and she winked. "Heh, this one's a charmer..I think I'll keep him!"

Leo gave Ally a tight hug then slowly let her go. He didn't expect any of his brothers to take to ally so fast, but of course it would be Mike who would be the first to befriend her. There even seemed to be a bit of flirting going on. That didn't bother Leo, he had a thing for Lexi anyway. He really needed to call her.

He looked over at Don, this time keeping his mouth shut and waiting for orders.

Mikey beams and - has to duck his head a little with a 'nawwww shucks' grin digging about in his man bag to withdraw half a toasted egg and bacon sandwich showing Ally. "Of course, a ninja is always prepared." He chuckles and winks grinning and glad she was happy to use his hoodie. "The sewers are a bit warmer... though subway tunnels sometimes get drafty." He adds thoughtfully... briefly wondering why that was.... and made a mental note amongst tonnes of mental notes to ask Donnie about that later.

Slipping deep down into storm drains the large mutant alligator swam leisurely - he knew these tunnels mostly by memory alone and swam with confidence, he had plenty of air so did not need to race to the surface.

Finally they arrived at the pizza place and met up with this friend of Leo's. She wasn't bad looking, either. The teenager in him took in every inch he could see of her, but he tried to be polite. He smiled warmly at Ally as they were all introduced to her, waving a little. Mikey was already hitting on her and that both annoyed Don and made him smile. Ally seemed to take to Mikey really well, too.

But, time was running short, and they had to go give Love her meal before she got bored of the prey she had been eating instead of the humans. Don didn't want her to kill another person ever again. "Uh, we better get going now. Love is waiting for us." Then he headed to her current living quarters with the others.

"Awww, yeah.. you really are prepared!" Ally smiled at the little orange one, even though he wasn't actually that little. Hell, they were all large and she felt so tiny in their presence, but even so she didn't feel intimidated or afraid. If Leo had proven anything, his kind were gentlemanly that actual humans.


She briefly thought about snagging the sandwich, but as polite as Mikey was, she knew this meal must be intended for the person they were going to help. She had no way of knowing that it was actually a human-eating pussy cat that would probably see her as a potential meal. [color=violet]:Awww, thanks sweetness! But, I know your friend probably needs that more than me." She told him, giving his cheek a playful pinch. Indeed she was flirty, but that was just a part of her personality.. and these guys were friggin' cute! His comment about sewers earned her curiosity. "Oh? I've only been down there once.. a bunch of guys threw me down there, but when I came to, I didn't stick around long enough to notice if it was cold or now.." She said, as if the ordeal hadn't been a big deal.


Her gaze shifted from Mikey to the taller Turtle who was sporting a purple bandanna, glasses and covered in techno gear. His shy little wave earned an eager one in turn. "Hey there!" She beamed, wondering if maybe she could touch his gear, but figured it was too soon for that. Get to know them first, Ally. Then move in slooow. "I like your gear! And Purple really suits you!!" She told Don as they started their trek. Her gaze then drifted to Splinter and she smiled at the oversized Rat, giving him a wave. "Hey there!". None of these guys came as a shock to her because she had time to process the fact that mutants existed. Her thoughts drifted back to meeting Leo just a few short nights ago and she chuckled to herself as her gaze shifted in his direction.



"For once, accidentally showing my knockers to someone paid off." Her smile widened. "Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys."

Lost in thoughts, about his still at home sons, about Rapahel, about Love, the middle aged Rat let the youths meet and greet, he was happy to follow along with Donatello lead and knew whilst it was hard for Leonardo to let go did give his son a small nod to encourage and remind him he was so far doing okay.

He takes in the petitte blond and ducks his furry head in a bow of greeting just as they begin to move off again. "Michelangleo made more than enough young one if you are hungry, don not be shy to eat." And, "Hello, it is nice to meet you."

Leo nodded to Don and motioned for everyone to follow. He grinned at Ally and put an arm around her shoulders and gave her a squeeze.

It's not a problem. I just hope you don't mind being in the sewers. and I hope Don's cat doesn't eat you. The last line was more of a joke then anything. He doubt that Love would try anything even if she wanted to.

Don lead everyone to where Love currently was in the abandoned warehouse.  At Ally's compliment, he blushed, smiling a little. "Thank you."  He was flattered, really.  No one really thought all the gear he carried with him was attractive.  And he was almost always labeled as a 'geek'.  Not that Don minded the term, per se, but usually it came with an insult.  Having a pretty girl say it, though, was a welcomed change.

Speaking of a pretty girl -- he told the others he would go first before letting them follow him inside. He wasn't sure how Love would take to having a whole group of people coming for a visit. It was best to just go in by himself because she knew him. Well, technically, she knew Mikey, too, but...this was Mikey they were talking about. Slowly he slipped inside the building and looked around. "Love? Are you here?"

Love had been laying down in the little nest of blankets. When the door open she sat up and when she heard Don's voice she got to her feet and ran over to him.

You came back! She threw her arms around him and gave him a hug.

You brought company.

Ally thought it was the coolest thing ever when Splinter bowed to her. She gave a little curtsey in response, because that's what you were supposed to do, right? "Heh, it's nice to meet you, too!" She beamed, unable to contain her excitement. Man, this was just the coolest thing ever! She was surrounded by these impressive mutants who could talk and think, and they were extremely kind. How lucky she felt to be here right now.


When Splinter informed her that there was more than enough food, she took the sandwich that Mikey had offered and after giving him thanks, quickly tore into it. She had noticed Donnie's blushing and couldn't help but chuckle at the techno Turtle. She certainly had a soft spot in her heart for nerds because most of them were the sweetest guys in the world. At least that's what she read. Too bad she didn't know any real life ones. Donnie was a first, and it was certainly a plus that he came in mutant form! Who knew, maybe later he would let her touch him. His gear, anyway!


The petite blonde leaned into Leo's one armed hug, returning it as they made their trek to find this Love mutant. Hearing his last comment earned her attention, but surely she wasn't really on the menu, right?


"Well, I have four incredibly handsome mutant men here to protect me so.. I'm good!" She winked, finishing off her sandwich as they neared the warehouse. Her curious gaze kept drifting to Splinter and after being unable to take it anymore, she reached out and ran her fingers through his fur and was surprised that it was actually as soft as it looked!


"Oh wow, what kind of shampoo do you use?? I need some!" She asked the rat, just as they were stepping into the Kitten's den...

Don was glad for the cat-lady's affection. Especially since it probably looked like he abandoned her. He slowly wrapped his own arms around her in a gentle hug. "I'm sorry it took so long. Things just kept coming up." Then he pulled away to meet her face. "Have you been getting enough to eat while I've been gone?"

Yes. Raph and his human friend came and seen me. they brought me muffins. So I've been good. Who else is here?

Love tried to look around Don. She smelled the air a bit. I smell a Mikey!

Leo was standing outside with the others, but next to the door. He could see the cat woman hug Don and hear what they were saying. Then she mentioned Raph had visited her. That was strange. Didn't raph want to kill her? And he had a human friend?

Leo walked beside Don and looked at Love. Hello. I'm Leo. Did you say Raph came to see you? And some human? what did she look like?

Love gave Leo's hand a shake and nodded. Yeah. she was pretty. red hair.

So Raph's been staying with April...

Not only that, but Raph and I have a date. He's going to show me around the city.

Okay, so, Raph had been seeing Love without him around? That was new. Especially considering his brother wanted to kill her on their first meeting. But, when Love told them she and Raph had a date, that was like a slap in the face to Don.

"Oh. Congratulations."

He had decided he had some sort of feelings for Love, but apparently that didn't matter anymore. Don hadn't acted on those feelings in time and Raph had snuck right in there. But Don still wanted to help her, anyway. He had promised her such.
