I, Zombie [Tag: Everyone]

So the pretty nurse was into chicks.. damn. Though that in itself was exciting but something told him that she wasn't into an audience, nor would any of them survive long enough to have a little fun. Though, it seemed that Mikko was up for a little fun.. when this was over.. if this was ever over.


He spared her a lop-sided grin, wincing as the nurse stitched him up.. "Thought you were with Laz.." Or, was she counting on him dying??

Eze sighed and went over to Lexi. He stood there looking at everything not sure what to do.

Bella hopped off her chair and went over to Gabe. She tugged on his hand and looked up at him. What is a happy ending? The nurse let out a chuckle. she thought about answering the kid, but decided she rather watch Gabe struggle with it.

Mikko laughed at Gabe and shook her head. Nope, we're just partners, tried to sleep with him once, he said I was too much of a hoe for his liking.

It was clear that Eze had no idea what to do, which she understood. He had only had experience in treating gunshot wounds.. this was far more severe. "Wash your hands, grab some gloves and remove the first bag from Mikko..." She instructed as she worked at tying off the arteries and vessels, it would be a long process and she could only hope that she got them all. Though she had seen this procedure done a few times, she had only assisted and never been the one calling the shots...


"How are you feeling, Mikko?" She asked, knowing some could give a pint without any ill effects and others would become sick...


"We may need more, but it wouldn't be safe taking another unit from you.... I can give while he's receiving the first transfusion, but I have to stop this bleeding first.." Otherwise, it would be pointless. One thing was for certain, she was determined to save him....

Suddenly Gabe found himself being questioned about happy endings and he finally rose up and carefully scooped Isabella up, giving her a light squeeze. "Happy endings are kinda like what happens with your cartoons. You know.. Beauty and the Beast... Love.. yeah, love is everyone's happy ending.." And it was the truth.. sort of.. just a less naughty explanation...


And he winked at Mikko, silently taking her up on that offer...

So much happening at once and Raphael's mind was all over the place.  "Eh.. a lot.." He answered Angel, leaving out the fact that he could throw large shipping containers around like they were nothing. Now was not the time to gloat. At least Casey was alright, and April and Angel... all of his human friends, but what of his family??


"I dunno, Case. I hope it's safe..." With that he pulled his Shell Cell and hit the dial for Leo, waiting anxiously for his brother to pick up....

" If it's safe can we please go there then because this place won't stay safe for long. As it is I hope one person won't survive this and if he does we're not taking him in if we find him." The young teen growled as she switched out the boots for her sneakers even though they were still wet. Mel got up now feeling warm enough but kept her distance away from Casey unable to really trust him or anyone for that matter. But now she had no choice in the matter.

Erica looks up from her phone - she had been hoping for a response and speaks again this time too them all, "if your home is subterranean like my friend Leatherhead's hidden Den and none of your family has ventured out Raphael, it and they should be relatively safe. I have made the trip thrice and have noticed only a few storm water drain systems around this general area for a few blocks seem to have only a few infected in them," She explains in a low tone unzipping her suit again to tuck her phone back into the red bra being careful not to expose anything and then zipping back up, continuing in low hurried tones before whom ever Raphael was calling.

"I think the ones I have seen from a distance may have simply fell down open grates or man holes..its possible lack of deliberate movement of the infected into underground areas may be because the smells may cover the scents of living prey, or the echoing of noises made by the water movement might confuse them... and well living or dead human eyes are not very good in the dark... but I can't be sure on this... Just possible hypothesis from what observations I have made so far..." she tailed off here - because she did not know. And it would be better not to assume too much until she knew more. But from her few sewers/ storm and service tunnel travels she had made thus far it certainly seemed so.

"A lot huh? well thats not vague or nothin' " Angel mock complained and chuckled lightly punching Casey's shoulder in greeting as he and April came back to the now six person group all standing close waiting for which ever brother Raph just dialed up to answer his t phone. "He Spacey glad to see you still fighting strong man." She smiles... and blinks listening to the girl Erica for a moment after a glance at Mel.

"Well... that could be useful if the hypothesis could be proven right." She nods to this girl her own voice very low so as not to talk over Raph and whichever brother he called.

Pressing another kiss to Casey's cheek April draws back a little and nods. "Yeah Angel and I were just packing what ever perishable foods we could manage and a change of cloths to get the hell out of here - at first thinking the farm house would be a good spot... but now hearing that it might be best we try getting down below ground and hide out with the guys." She smiles at Raph and pats the wrist holding his phone sure his brothers and father were fine.

Blinks at Erica's words and smiles. "We can hope -" She agrees. It was something. And in any case once they were in the lair Donatello probably would have out lying safe guards around the place.

Splinter at first had been ignoring the noise created by Michelangelo -

But the same news casting his often most stinky and noisy son was currently listening also played over his radio now. Where once the music was soft and playful and soothing now a worried toned broadcaster with a distinct accent twanged over the speakers.

He frowns, stands and tail curling to flick the battery operated radio off moved silently through the dark lair joining his sons.

Ear flicking, "your t phone is vibrating Leonardo. If it is your brother Raphael, ask I'd he is near April and or Casey and tell him to come home and bring them with him if can, we may need to lay low here safe in the lair for some time, need to know more about what is going on."

Eze did as he was told and grabbed the bag from Mikko. He really didn't think the Lz guy had a chance, but the dude was still breathing. out cold. But still breathing. Hopefully they wouldn't have to make a run for it anytime soon or Laz would be out of luck.

Mikko gave Lexi the thumbs up. I'm good. I've lost more blood then this before.You wouldn't believe how strong a turtle can be. Mikko then looked over at Gabe and Bella and smiled.

Soooooo...You and her? Happy ending? Bella asked pointing to Mikko, then a smile formed on her face, not really understanding anything that was going on. In her head this was great news. You get married and have a baby then I can be a big sister!

Mikko chuckled at that. Looks like our future has been foretold, Gabe. No going back now.

The nurse finished with her stiching and bandaged Gabe up. All better. Don't get hurt again, I can't promise I'll be here long.

Yes! Baxter chimed in. There were three more nurses. But, dude to trying to save the clan, they died. That's why we started putting anyone down that was bit or scratched.

yes, Master Splinter.

Leo grabbed his phone and checked who was calling. seeing it was Raph made him feel a bit better. He answered.

Raph. Where are you at? Is everything ok?

Okay, Don had to admit that sounded a bit more convincing.  Then he remembered why he was out here in the first place.  "I...I have something I need to do first."  Bringing some stranger to the lair was really ill-advised, but if she was telling the truth, then maybe she could help them.

With his mind made up, he took her hand gently in his. "This way."  Then he pulled her down the tunnel until they got to the small garage door.  Don let her hand go and unlocked the door then took her hand again.  "In here."

After they were both inside, Don shut and locked the door, taking out his flashlight to find the fuse box.  "Sorry about this.  We lost power a little while ago."  Don fumbled with the flashlight until he found the cover on the fuse box and pulled it open, flipping the main switch.  There was a small surge of power and a quiet 'whiring' noise to let him know it worked.

"There.  That outta do it."  He could almost hear his little brother, shouting in joy that the power had returned so he can finish whatever game he was playing. The thought only made Don roll his eyes.

At least Mikko was holding up, and Eze was actually being a trooper. Honestly she expected a fuss from him, but maybe he realized that Laz was in this shape because he had been unselfish. He had tried to save them, and it was because of him and Mikko that she and Gabriel were still in one piece.


Once Eze had the bag, Lexi walked him through the process of hooking it to the transfusion machine, finding a vein in Laz' arm, sterilizing the injection sight and insert the catheter. In a matter of minutes, the much needed blood was entering his deprived system. One hurtle overcome, many more to go.


"Good job, Eze. But stay close.. I may need you..."


With the bleeding now under control, Lexi smoothed the broken edge of exposed bone and with tweezers, began trying to manipulate muscle to cover the end, stitching fibers into place and forcing down the nausea that everything was causing. Normally she could take the sight of blood and meat and broken bones, but this felt too personal.. too close to home, even though she didn't know the guy...



Gabriel made the mistake of looking over to where Lexi  was frantically working. Unlike his ex, he wasn't used to such injuries and the sight turned his stomach, but at least he could look away to regroup. His attention returned to Belle and he blinked at her comment, a nervous sort of chuckle escaping as he ruffled her hair.



"Don't rush it, SweetPea." And he winked at Mikko.. no offense. But they had just met. Surely she wasn't ready for the life that Belle would love to thrust them into.



"You can't do that..." Lexi spoke up, and spared a glance at Baxter before refocusing on her work. " You can't just kill people who you think are infected. If they take precautions, like Laz did.. they stand a chance..." But would Laz' efforts be for nothing? No. She couldn't think like that. He was going to be fine...


"Zeke,  bring the oxygen over here.. please.."

Love smiled when Don took her hand. It had been a long time sense anyone had held her hand. Even if this wasn't romotaly romantic. She followed him and watched him work. The darkness didn't bother her and her eyes shone brightly through the blackness. She was able to see perfectly and could already tell that this turtle was a hottie .

When he finished up with the power she flashed him a grin.

Cute and smart. Nice combo. I really want to thank you for helping me. Not many would willingly take in a stray mutant cat. I promise, I don't eat much and I'm really good at cleaning, so I can be useful.

Ezekiel was use to the blood and gore, he was use to seeing broken and torn off limbs, but he never had to actually touch them, or help the people. So this was new to him. He did as Lexi said and then stepped back to let her work.

Hearing his little girl he finally glanced up at her and laughed, after all this shit it was good to have a little chuckle.

I don't think yer uncle Gabe is ready for such a commitment. Though if we do get out all this alive, he might want to rethinking his stance on woman and marrage.

We didn't THINK they were infected. We knew they were. Some tried cutting off limbs but they still turned. I'll admit. Lazarus seems to be doing well, he should be all teeth and claws by now. He got lucky. Still in the long run, it's better to be safe then eaten. And i wouldn't sass me so much, child, I am letting you use my facilities.

Baxter started to pack things up, he would be moving to his lab out the city for a while. Of course he was trying to find a cure for this mess, not to help people, but the money and fame involved would be wonderful! And the funding he would get would be equally impressive.

Once Laz is taken care of I'll show you all to a room. You don't have to stay in the room, but I'm sure you all would like someplace to sleep. The guest bedrooms only have two beds, I have a bed if one of the guys want to share. she said with a wink.

And food anything you want we probably have it. I'll get you all badges to wear so no one tries to kick you out.

Bella pipped up again, rubbing her stomach. I'm hungry...

What would you like to eat?

Bella thought on that a moment. what did she want? Jelly beans? Gummy worms?

Before she could answer Eze spoke up. Do you have mac and cheese and maybe some milk?

Coming right up. Mikko looked over at Lexi. Am I done for now?

It seemed that Ezekiel was too caught up in whatever light conversation he was engaged in to even hear her. Yeah, it was good that they could find something to chuckle at.. but a man's life hung in the balance. And now Mikko was asking if she was free to go. With a frustrated sigh, Lexi just nodded, dismissing her..


..what was wrong with these people?! The world was going to shit, Laz was in critical shape but everyone was casually discussing food and rooms and dates while she was up to her elbows in blood and in need of assistance. Whatever. She would do it all herself. Pausing momentarily from suturing, she quickly stepped over to pull the oxygen machine closer, placing the mask over Laz' mouth and nose. Monitors were then dragged over and hooked up to keep track of vitals as she worked, expecting the others to file away to their awaiting rooms for the night...

"What do we do waiting for him Master Splinter?" Mikey asks in a whisper looking at Leo and the phone eagerly and in worry hopefully Raphael was fine.

He knew now was not time for jokes and mucking about as it seemed something very serious was going on.

If only he knew it was a scenario that could have come straight from one of his comic books.

And Hank knew why Project Phoenix was important. Also it would not be the first time the Ghosts had been a part of handling him, sort of training encase they ever had to deal with him on the run. "We'll keep an eye out for him Sir." He assures Agent Bishop, confident about the groups ability to handle such a little beast.

He did not need to relay these orders here, the ghost unit listened, each of the other twelve slipping their exoskeleton suits helmets into place. Hank was just pulling his into place when what was on his phone screen caught his attention. And as serious as this moment was he could not stop the smile curling his lips. "Erica..." His relieved sigh muffled by his helmet sliding into place.

He did not have to worry Bishop would disprove of that tiny flash of distracted emotion, the agent knew no matter what Hank's mind would be on the mission now his helmet was on, and in any case his daughter had the attention of the Earth Protection Force special services as a possible future Specialized Xenobiologist one day. The 'ninja' exoskeletons they had on were several upgrades from Skull Suits, these ones providing not only enhanced combat capabilites to the wearer, such as increased strength and agility also provide additional benefits such as built in weaponry and stealth camouflage. Their helmets might have been 'skulls' - a play on the units title 'Ghosts' and a little psychological warfare by scaring enemies - but on the inside is allowed the individuals to converse without being heard except by Bishop through his own ear piece and gave them night vision and thermal visual capabilities.

He had one of the earlier prototype Skull Suits at home, his wife's old suit.

All the unit fare-welled Bishop with half bows, Hank last - and with that the camouflage was activated all of them unit melting out of sight as if the gusts from the choppers blades had blown them away.

Mikko looked over at Lexi and could see her frustration. She went over to her and laid a hand on the woman's shoulder.

Thank you for everything you have done. And sorry For Stockman's attitude and behavor. You did good though. I'm going to get the little girl some food. It's important to me for her to not be too tramatized by all of this. So I'll have some toys for her too. Would you like something to drink? A mamosa maybe?

She looked at the other guys. Any of you guys want a drink? She also had drugs, but didn't want that to be around the child. Plus, she didn't want other foot to know she had drugs sense that wasn't allowed, though really, end of the world? Who would care now?

Frustrated didn't even begin to sum it up, and just hearing that she was doing good wasn't very comforting. If she wasn't here, then Laz would die because it seemed no one else gave a shit. And Mikko was what, his friend? Surely she was. They were in the same clan, and had been together when she and Gabe were rescued. Of course making sure Isabella was okay was important.. but was it really the time to be making sleeping arrangements with Gabe? She just shook her head in response, gaze still focused on the mangled tissue that she was trying to get to cooperate and hopefully function once he was closed up...


Gabe, oblivious to his ex's frustration managed a smile at Mikko. "Got any beer?"



Well, that  earned Lexi's attention. "Do you really think that's a good idea? Get dunk when those things could bust down the door at any minute?You've gotten lucky once.. don't count on a repeat.."

Yeah there's beer. uh I also have some...more...advance "medicine." in my room if you want.

Mikko turned to Lexi and rolled her eyes.

Nothing is getting in here. This is a fortress, nothing is getting in. She punched Baxter in the shoulder to get his attention.

Where's Master Shredder?

Baxter shrugged his shoulders. Haven't seen him.

Well someone must be giving orders. Where's Karai?

No word from her either.

Well obviously someone is keeping things organized. She went up to eze and asked if he wanted anything but he said no. With that she left the room to get her guest set up.

It was a foolish assumption to think that this was a fortress that nothing  could get into...


..Karai had believed the same thing, that was up until the infection hit too close to home...


...the virus was here.  It had claimed the only person in this world that she ever loved. It turned him into a thoughtless monster.


Karai had been preparing for her nightly patrol, oblivious to the reports of the virus and the undead on the news. It had happened so quickly. An infection that spread like wildfire and claimed thousands in only an hour. The numbers were growing. Some of their own were infected and unfortunately made it back to headquarters before the virus stopped their heart, then jump started their brain, bringing them back, but not as the person they once were.  



"Good evening, Father. Do you wish to speak to me before I depart?" Karai asked as she sheathed her Katana. Surely he requested her audience if he had come into her room. She turned to meet his gaze, quickly noticing that he was wearing his armor. That was.. odd. He had never worn his armor into her room, but perhaps he was about to handle some business of his own.


He stood too far away for her to notice the change in his eyes, and the face plate concealed the large gash where the infected Geisha had kissed him, a split second before tearing into his flesh.


"Father?" A lack of response had caused her concern, and the way his body rose and fell with each 'breath', even though his lungs no longer required oxygen to function. In a split second, he charged her and her moment of confusion and reluctance to attack was all he needed to pin his adoptive daughter, slamming her hard against the wall. It was fortunate that he wore the face plate and his teeth were unable to connect with flesh, but his gauntlet was free to inflect numerous injuries. It tore through her GI, ripping into her once perfect flesh. The young Kunoichi screamed in pain as the blades ripped open her left side, another lash across her chest, down her face and left thigh, then the weapons were drew back preparing to deliver a fatal strike, but she managed to draw her Katana and blocked the claws from driving into her chest.


"I do not wish to hurt you... please.. stop..." She pleaded, her struggles knocking free the face plate and exposing the full horror of his deteriorating condition. His discolored skin and blood shot eyes no longer shadowed. The huge chunk of flesh missing from his jaw...


Something was terribly wrong. But even though he was attempting to kill her, she couldn't...wouldn't put him down. Whatever it was, it could be reversed. She just had to survive this attack and find a way to contain him.


With his mouth free of the makeshift 'muzzle' her father snapped at her face, teeth coming only inches from her face. Mustering up every ounce of strength she had, Karai managed to push him off and sprinted out of the room, locking and pulling the door closed behind her. Slumping to her knees to compose herself, her badly wounded body jerked as she heard him slam against the door...

..slowly, it was all sinking in. Her father was infected by something that could very well take him from her, and he had inflicted wounds that could very well kill her. Adrenaline was still pumping so she was uncertain how much damage was done, and shock and blood loss was taking their violent hold....

On the way to the kitchen, Mikko stopped when she heard what sounded like fighting in Karai's room. Mikko didn't care for Karai much and Karai didn't like her. Of course Mikko showed the daughter of her boss no respect, and it didn't help that Mikko would often try to get in Shredder's pants. Not that she liked the guy, but sleeping with the boss could help her career along.

She was going to keep going until Karai ran out the room, slamming and locking the door behind her. She looked a mess!

What happen to you? Mikko asked as she bent down to get a better look at Karai's wounds.

Who did this?

She could hear who ever was in the room banging on the door. It didn't take Mikko long to figure out what was happening. She quickly backed away from Karai.

Guards! She called out, thinking that Karai had been scratched or bitten by one of those zombies. Some near by ninjas three of them, came to see what was wrong.

Karai's been attacked by those monsters. looks like she got scratched. You know the policy for that. oh yes, seeing Karai go down would normally be great! But if the infection got into the tower, who else was roaming the halls looking for flesh. Maybe this wasn't a safe place.
